Pastor Orville Lind's Advice - 1999

I came upon the following notes I took of advice from a seasoned pastor.  It must have been at an internship training event.  Still seems like good advice.

Get acquainted with the people in the congregation


Be trustworthy

Be diplomatic

Get along with all

Do not bypass committees

Get things approved - go through the process

You cannot do it all - do not micromanage

Take care of yourself and your family

Nurture friendships

Support groups

Servant style - lead by example

Be appreciative - praise and thanks

Follow through

Make good use of time

Cultivate your own spiritual growth - pray

Be positive

Have fun
