I must be the luckiest person in the world.
For the hundredth time at least, I have received the ad on Yahoo mail:

"You are the 999,999th Visitor!
Congratulations YOU WON!"

One of these days, I may even click on the ad...

  1. I don't think we can do enough to educate folks on what "the Jews" meant to the writers of the NT. I've winced at numerous sermons where this has been ignored. In our local newspaper, which features a "church chat" page with columns submitted by local churches that summarize the prior Sunday's service, one Lutheran church (not ELCA, but small consolation) wrote such a breathtakingly anti-Semitic commentary on its sermon text ("The Jews thought they were the master race, not the Master's race...") that I literally cringed in shame.

  2. Ouch!
Yes, I've heard that kind of anti-Semitic stuff, too. We are hoping to have a Jewish individual I know come and speak at our church this spring. Anything we can do to increase mutual understanding and respect is worthwhile.
