Law and Gospel

I've uploaded a new sermon here. In it, I comment on a local (Fargo) controversy about the Ten Commandments.

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, through God’s Spirit of love and life.

As we read or hear the Bible, God confronts us with two realities: the Law and the Gospel.

  1. Good sermon. I like the way you point out the fact that people tend to give more regard to the Ten Commandments monuments than the commandments themselves.

And I agree with Kurt Vonnegut too.

  2. Thanks.
I think some Christians have a persecution complex - if someone objects to having a graven image of the Ten Commandments on public property, then they are perceived to be attacking the Christian faith, or assaulting the word of God. It's a kind of distraction from issues of true importance.
